Fighting hunger

West University Elementary School students including fourth graders Will Coffman and Cole Mansour (pictured, from left) are participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring, a national movement to fight hunger that takes place around the time of the Super Bowl. WUES PTO has organized the collection as a school-wide service project. All food items collected are donated to the Houston Food Bank. During the school’s 10 years of participation in the Souper Bowl of Caring, WUES has collected over 203,600 pounds of food for the Houston Food Bank. The drive will last through Feb. 3. To donate canned or boxed food items, send your donation to WUES with your favorite WUES student.
