Live Music in Houston This January
The new year will bring lots of fun acts to Houston. With the new Smart Financial Centre opening up, you’ve got a new venue to check out, too.
Jan. 7 - Red Hot Chili Peppers @ Toyota Center
The concert I’m looking forward to the most this year. Tickets are sold out, but if you’re able to convince your way into a ticket, it’ll be worth it.
Jan. 12 - Lukas Graham @ House of Blues
Graham is the singer in popular song “7 Years Old,” as you might’ve heard on the radio. The show is sure to be intimate yet fun.
Jan. 13 - The Molly Ringwalds @ House of Blues
A famous '80s tribute band, The Molly Ringwalds are great live. I’ve seen them myself, and it’s impossible not to dance along to their set.
Jan. 14 - Jerry Seinfeld @ Smart Financial Centre
Live music concerts might not be your scene, but there are other types of live performances! Comedy is a fan favorite, and Jerry Seinfeld always gets rave reviews.
Jan. 15 - Don Henley @ Smart Financial Centre
If you like the Eagles, watch one of the original members perform live!
Jan. 22 - Miranda Sings @ Cullen Performance Hall
Another comedy act is in this month’s mix! Miranda Sings is popular on YouTube, and supposedly is incredibly funny live.
Jan. 28- Scotty McCreery @ Arena Theatre
For my country music lovers, I’ve included one country artist on this month’s list. Scotty McCreery made it big through American Idol and has been doing well ever since.
Jan. 28- Audien @ Stereo Live
Audien is a world-famous producer and DJ. Stereo Live is a fun concert space, so look forward to more of a party atmosphere at this concert.
Jan. 30 - Super Bowl Opening Night @ Minute Maid Park
Houston is lucky enough to be the site for the 2017 Super Bowl! There will be concerts for the Super Bowl in February, but Opening Night promises media coverage and team interviews, which will be a show in itself. An unnamed artist is set to perform that night. Buy your tickets now!
Jan. 31- Rick Astley @ Warehouse Live
Whether you know him from being “Rick Rolled” on YouTube or if you know all the words to “Never Gonna Give You Up,” or both, go see Rick Astley live in concert in Houston to round out the first month of 2017.
