Blessed event
Val Lankford married Jim Neikirk in a family-filled ceremony. Her daughter, Meredith Lankford Mata, was the matron of honor, and his son, Ken Neikirk, was the best man. Val walked down the aisle at Woodlands United Methodist Church holding 3-year-old grandson Colby Lankford’s hand while 6-year-old ring bearer Conner Lankford led the way. Granddaughters Lilleigh and Adeline Lankford, in Dallas, awaited the arrival of baby brother James. A celebration for the couple was held later at Patti and Tom Owens’, hosted by Mary Maxey, Lynn Murphy and Sheila Klein. For sport, Sheila organized a “newlywed” game in which four couples participated. One question everyone got right was, “What possession of the other spouse do you want to throw away?”
