All Star game

The St. Vincent de Paul Middle School Ministry hosted the first annual SVdP Varsity Boys & Girls vs. SVdP All Stars Basketball Game organized by Phillip Rivera. The SVdP All Stars (pictured) included the Dominican Sisters of the Mary Immaculate Province, SVdP alumni, parents and staff, who challenged the varsity basketball teams to a heated match and won with a score of 33-24. From the start to the final buzzer, it was a close game. Varsity captains Sam Callaghan and Ella Smith tried to keep the varsity teams afloat, but Brock Culwell of the SVdP All-Stars put on a stellar offensive performance. Highlights included eighth-grade cheerleader Brooke Michelle singing the national anthem and SVdP parent Jake Lewis winning a free pizza lunch for the students by making a half-court shot on his second attempt. A pizza reception with disco lights and a blessing from Monsignor Bill Young was a great way to end the evening.
