HSES middle school students

Holy Spirit Episcopal School hosted the regional finals of the National History Bee, which attracted more than 500 students competing for a place in the finals. History instructor Shannon Shrader organized the event and helped prepared 10 HSES middle school students. The fast-paced, interactive buzzer format covered topics spanning from ancient Greece to video games. Mason Price, Evan Long, Mitchell Shadden and Kennedy Havens qualified for Nationals, which will take place in Atlanta in June. HSES regional competitors included (front row, from left) Mason Price, Mitchell Shadden, Evan Long, (back row, from left) Davis Wall, Eleanor Carter, Audrey Hudson, Kennedy Havens, Murphy McNew and Kyle Hodges.

Editor’s note: The Buzz congratulates Buzz About Town columnist Annie Blaylock McQueen on the arrival of her beautiful baby Georgia. Annie took a short break to spend time with Georgia and twin toddlers Cash and Lila and will return to the Buzz About Town column in May.
