Judges and winners

Fans cheered and took videos of their favorite acts as celebrity judges yours truly, Buzz staff writer (and Greenwood King real estate agent), Pat Middleton of the New 93Q and KTHT 97.1FM Country Legends, Jawad Abdul-Jabbar, a multi-talented musician and music teacher with Young Audiences, Incorporated of Houston and Jaime Titus, Worship Arts Coordinator at The Story Houston at Pin Oak Middle School’s annual Idol Talent Show had to pick the Pin Oak Middle School Idols.

The fundraiser for the music and cultural arts department kept the audience buzzed with pizza and snacks. The Multi-Purpose room was filled with parents and fans as well as students as 15 superb acts were performed (with one intermission).

The first prize went to Estelle Yan who played Gardens in the Rain by Claude Debussy on the piano. Estelle said she practices one to two hours a day on the piano. Second place went to Audrey Tanzil for her vocal rendition and stage presentation of Popular from the musical Wicked. Third place was to Isabel Catarineau who sang Killing Me Softly beautifully as done by the Fugees.

Honorable mentions went to Micah Guttman for his Jazz Medley on Piano: Blue Bossa/How High The Moon and to String Quartet that included Isaac Al-Rahami, Dylan Ballard, Aaron Byum, Nathan Hoang and Raquel Zepeda for playing Canon in D by Pachabel.
