The Memorial Garden Club ended its year with a field trip to the Florescence “Waves” Show at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, which paired floral arrangements with a sea theme. Gaye Thomas planned the tidal wave of celebration for 50-plus members. After, at lunch at the Black Labrador, the new “surf” board was announced: president Susanna Jeu, first vice president Kristi Barnhill, second vice president Julie Brann, recording secretary Tammy Coker, corresponding secretary Gaye Thomas, treasurer Ann Tidwell and parliamentarian Alice Sadeghpour. Continuing committee members are Melanie Whatley, Suzy Godwin and Sharon Brier, and new flower show chair is Susan Braden. Thanks were given to the departing officers, Karen Bloomfield, Elaine Roach and Diane McDaniel.

Although Sharon Brier grew up in the Rio Grande Valley she left as soon as she could and found herself immersed in all that Houston has to offer.
