Over 350 of Houston society, business, philanthropic and city leaders came out to River Oaks Country Club for Houston Center for Literacy's annual Mayor's Literacy Leadership Award Breakfast. The event co-chairs were Kim and Dan Tutcher. KPRC Channel 2’s Khambrel Marshall emceed the event, and Mayor Sylvester Turner headlined his second breakfast. He stressed the importance of improving the city's adult literacy rate. The honoree was Carlos Correa, the Houston Astros’ star shortstop.
