WUSA giving back
The West University Softball Association held a successful Spring Ball Hit-a-Thon fundraiser and donated $18,000 to the TIRR Memorial Hermann Adaptive Sports program. Last year, during Cancer Awareness Month in October, WUSA donated money raised then to The Rose, a local non-profit breast-cancer organization. Pictured in between two teams (back row, from left) are George Polydoros, WUSA executive vice president; Kristine Martinez, Hit-a-Thon chair, with daughter Bella; Gail Jackson, Hit-a-Thon chair, with daughter Emily; (front row, from left) Lydia Tolbert, Audrey Rullman and Avery Fisher. Fall player registration is available at wusa.org July 24 through Aug. 29. Players are encouraged to register early. The season will begin Sept. 4. Games will be played Sunday afternoons from Sept. 10 to Nov. 12. Fall Ball is for girls ages 6-14. Everyone who registers will be placed on a team.
