A productive summer
Lamar High School class of 2019 students and twins Hunter and Sydney McConn had a busy summer. They got their Red Cross lifeguard and CPA certification this summer, and Hunter got a job at River Oaks Country Club as a lifeguard. “There’s lots of paperwork and orientation, but it will give me a part-time job through September and hopefully when the pool opens next summer,” said Hunter. “[Sydney] and I also have our own pet-sitting service. We have several regular clients from the past few years, and we’ve added some new ones this summer, too.” Sydney participated in cheerleading camp in July. Hunter was invited to two basketball camps the end of June. The first camp was at Columbia University in New York City and the other at Albright College in Reading, Penn.
