Helping furry friends
Amelia Nuzzo, a seventh grader at Memorial Middle School, has always had a soft spot for dogs. Throughout Hurricane Harvey, Amelia was concerned about pets in Houston and how she could help them. She started a campaign to raise money to help the pets impacted by Hurricane Harvey and designed a T-shirt specifically for this purpose. The shirt displays the words on the back: “Helping Pets of Harvey One by One.” Her idea took off, and people all over the world, from California to New Jersey to Israel, have contributed to this cause by purchasing a $20 shirt. In less than two days, she more than tripled her goal. All proceeds are going to the Houston SPCA. To help out, see https://www.customink.com/fundraising/harveypets.
