His birthday was in August, and hers is in October. The joint birthday brunch for Joyce and Alfred Goodman was held at Brennan's of Houston. The couple was crowned with chef’s hats inscribed with 80th at the top. The tasty event was hosted by the Goodmans’ children, Laura Towber, Steven and Maxine Goodman, and David and Patricia Goodman. Joyce's sister, Barbara Oshman, and her family came from California. A lot of toasts were made to the couple who met in Houston in 1959 when he was the best man at his cousin's wedding and she was the maid of honor. They celebrated 57 years in July. Meant to be.
