Scouting Homes to Help After Harvey
Boy Scout Troop 266 from West U Methodist Church hit the ground running immediately after Harvey to help clear out flooded homes. They helped for more than a week in impacted areas such as Meyerland and Bellaire with the assistance of Scout Committee Chair John Cheek. Scouts also helped at the Houston Food Bank, NRG shelter and other distribution points.
Scoutmaster Matt Ryan said that the Scouts took the opportunity to not only to help out the community when help is needed but also to hone their skills in the areas of leadership, teamwork, planning and communications. February 2018 will be the 75th Anniversary of the charter of the troop.
