A plan for success
Hunters Creek Elementary was one of 10 SBISD schools selected to take part in the School Redesign Collaborative. Pictured (from left) are Kirstyn Duncan, third-grade teacher; Ashley Johnson, first-grade Vanguard teacher; Rosie Cantu-Vargas, second-grade teacher; Tracey Tomaro-McCall, math intervention specialist; Robye Snyder, principal; and Mandie Badrak, third-grade teacher. The School Redesign Collaborative will take a year, and the goal is to produce a vision for Hunters Creek's future and a multi-year plan of action. HCE applied for the initiative, funded by the New Schools Venture Fund, which invests in organizations that are working to improve public education.
