Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend
Happy Friday! The recent chilly weather has really made it feel like the holiday season. Here are some fun holiday-themed events to look forward to this weekend:
Head to CityCentre on Saturday morning for the 7th Annual Rudolph Run benefiting Firefighters Helping Firefighters. There will be a Dasher 10K, Rudolph 5K or a Cupid 1K. Costumes are encouraged, as the participant with the best Christmas outfit will win a prize. Plus Santa will be on hand for photos.
Rice Village is hosting a festive breakfast sponsored by Coco Crepes Rice Village on Saturday morning featuring Santa Claus. Each ticket will include breakfast for one child and their parents, one-on-one time and photos with Santa, plus a Christmas craft. Proceeds will benefit United Way of Greater Houston.
Architecture Center Houston will host the 9th Annual Gingerbread Build-Off at City Hall’s Hermann Square on Saturday morning. Teams will create their works of art using edible materials. Come by to cheer on participating teams and enjoy entertainment, including a Kids Construction Zone, food trucks, Santa, music and more.
Holiday in the Park on the Strand
Enjoy time on the Strand in Galveston on Saturday with holiday music, photos with Santa, and more.
The Heartmade Holiday Market at Main Street Square will take place on Saturday and will include food trucks, a children’s imagination station, photo opps with Santa, music (a DJ plus strolling Christmas carolers) and local artists selling holiday gifts and art.
Taste beer from 12 breweries at Holiday Brews on the Bayou on Saturday afternoon at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. Houston’s Grain Free Quartet will perform. Ticket proceeds will go toward helping Bayou Bend after damage from Hurricane Harvey.
Join Westbury Baptist Church on Sunday morning for its annual Christmas concert featuring its choir, orchestra and special holiday music.
