Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

Spring is here and there are lots of fun festivals and events going on around town. Here are a few going on this weekend:
Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park
Browse art and enjoy music, local food vendors, entertainment, a Children’s Creative Zone and more at Bayou City Art Festival, which takes place at Memorial Park, Friday-Sunday. A percentage of the proceeds support local art organizations and nonprofits.
Get a taste of Scotland as bagpipers, drummers and dancers take the stage for Sounds of Scotland, which takes place at Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land on Friday evening. Proceeds from the show will go to benefit the Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School Scottish Arts program, making this a wonderful way to celebrate Scottish music and dance while supporting a great cause.
This year, Free Press Summer Fest was reborn at In Bloom Music Festival, as it now takes place in the spring rather than the summer. The two-day music festival takes place Saturday and Sunday at Eleanor Tinsley Park. Look forward to more than 50 music performances on four stages.
West U Easter Spring and Arbor Day Festival
Celebrate Easter and Arbor Day with a festival, inflatable obstacle course and bounce house, photos with the Easter bunny and family-friendly games this Saturday on the fields by the West U Recreation Center.
West U Baptist and Crosspoint Church are hosting a free, fun, family-friendly Easter egg hunt this Saturday morning at Evelyn’s Park. There will also be carnival games, crafts, food and more fun activities.
Hermann Park Conservancy Kite Festival
Get your colorful kites ready for the annual Hermann Park Conservancy Kite Festival this Sunday. You’ll enjoy seeing tons of kites, plus interactive activities, entertainment, food trucks and more.
This is the last weekend that the outdoor roller rink at Discovery Green will be open. Take advantage of this fun, unique activity while you can!
