The experience of fun mixed with challenges and athleticism is here! But it's not just about traditional sports; we'll also feature different games, breakdancing, martial arts, and various performances encouraging creativity and laughter. With each activity, children not only engage in physical activity but also learn about teamwork, and sportsmanship. Whether they're sprinting towards the finish line or crafting their own victory dances, the Faux-lympics promise a day of joyous exploration and playful competition for all!
Faux Games Schedule
Week 1: February 6 - 13
- Olympic Flame Activity: Learn about the fascinating history of the Olympic Flame and test your endurance and skill with this fun game!
- Tabletop Curling Challenge: Experiment with friction by sliding stones across different surfaces to see how it affects speed, distance, and accuracy.
- Build-a-Bobsled: Explore forces and friction by launching Lego bobsleds down the test track!
- Snowboard Balance Boards: Test your balance as you stand on a wobble board and navigate a built-in maze, building the coordination, focus and core strength used by real snowboarders.

Sunday, Feb. 8
Spinning Ice Skater Electromagnets: Learn how to build a simple homopolar motor with a battery, magnets and wire so your “ice skater” can spin using electromagnetism!

Thursday, Feb. 12
STEM Bites for Little Learners: Cold-Weather Gear Test Lab: Explore different materials such as gloves, mittens, foil, and fleece on ice cubes to see which keeps “athletes” warm longest.
When: From 11 am to 12 pm in Tree Top
Cross Country “Ski” Challenge: Follow a series of movement prompts like shuffle steps, long strides, and tiny jumps as you “ski” across the patio in this cross-country-inspired challenge!
When: From 5 to 7:30 pm on the Patio
Friday, Feb. 13
“Ice” Hockey Make Arcade: Build your own hockey players using simple maker materials like craft sticks and cups, then put them to the test on the air hockey rink.
When: All Day in One World
Week 2: February 14 - 22
- Design an Faux-lympic Flag: Create a unique flag by adding your own symbols, colors and patterns that represent your favorite faux-lympic events!
- Magnetic Speed Skating Racers: Explore how magnetic forces can be used to control speed and direction as you race your magnetic speed skater through a track!
- Ski Launch Jump Zone: Explore force and motion as you launch a ball off the ramp—then test different techniques to change its height, speed and distance.
- Snowboard Balance Boards: Test your balance as you stand on a wobble board and navigate a built-in maze, building the coordination, focus and core strength used by real snowboarders.

Thursday, Feb. 19
Toddler Takeover - Ski Route Coding: Become mini coders as you code your robotic “skier” on a path through a grid of snowy mountain icons!
When: From 11 am to 12pm in Chevron Maker Annex
Biathlon Target Toss: Race through a quick movement course, then aim and toss beanbags to hit all five targets like a pro!
When: From 5 to 7:30 pm on the Patio
