Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend
Happy Friday! Here are some great events going on this weekend:
Enjoy a Spring Fashion Show, plus a doggy fashion show presented by Bring Your Own Dog Houston, at Rice Village’s Spring Street Festival this Saturday. There will also be food trucks, live music, children’s activities, shopping and more.
Annual Doggy Party on the Plaza
Bring your four-legged best friends to the 9th Annual Doggy Party on the Plaza this Saturday at CityCentre. This free, family-friendly event benefits Houston-area rescues. Enjoy games, doggy costume contests, a “Rescue Me” parade, a free photo booth for your pup, face painting and more.
Celebrate spring and nature at Nature Discovery Center’s Spring Fling Festival on Saturday. Families will enjoy interactive nature stations, animal encounters, crafts and activities for kids, food trucks and more in the park.
Browse art outdoors, music, food trucks, and more at the Heartmade Art Market at Main Street Square downtown on Saturday. The market benefit Hoof Prints and Heart Beats, a local organization that offers free equine therapy to children and adults with special needs.
Houston Mac and Cheese Festival
Splurge in the delicious comfort food favorite at the Houston Mac and Cheese Festival on Saturday at Silver Street Studios. Forty Houston restaurants will serve samples of their creative take on mac and cheese. There will be beverages, live music, local vendors, art and other fun activities.
Families will love this festival full of games, circus acts, rides, food and entertainment for all ages in downtown Houston this Saturday and Sunday. Anthony Gonzalez, the actor who voices the animated character Miguel in Oscar-winning film Coco, will headline the celebrity entertainment. There will be 14 Big Family Adventure Zones, four stages of music and more than 300 fun activities.
The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival
Head to The Woodlands Saturday-Sunday as Town Green Park and The Woodlands Waterway will be transformed into an outdoor art gallery, featuring works from more than 200 artists from across the country. There will be five entertainment stages, hands-on art activities, great food and drinks and more.
The annual Houston Rockets Dog Walk presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka will include a sunrise walk with your favorite pup along Galveston’s Seawall Promenade. Following the walk will be a party, which will include special appearances by Clutch, the Rockets Mascot and the Rockets Power Dancers plus prizes, games, entertainment and more.
