Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

Happy Friday! Here are a few events on our radar this weekend:
The 2018 Texas Crab Festival will take place all weekend at Crystal Beach. The festival includes live music, arts and crafts, a crab gumbo cook off, a 5K/1K run, crab races, carnival rides, a boat show, contests, games and more.
Mother’s Day Market at Silver Street
Celebrate moms and enjoy local vendors at Silver Street’s Mother’s Day Market held in conjunction with Sawyer Yard Second Saturday.
Enjoy everything Texas – craft beers, food, spirits, music, vendors and more – at TXFest 2018 on Saturday at Hermann Square. There will be two staged filled with Texas bands. And don’t miss the mechanical bull.
Ira Glass, creator, producer and host of beloved public radio program This American Life, will speak at Jones Hall on Saturday evening. He’ll use audio clips, music, video and personal stories from his life within the presentation.
Evelyn’s Park and The City of Bellaire first responders are hosting Touch-a-Truck at the park on Saturday. The event will feature a wide variety of vehicles and activities, plus food trucks.
