More than 500 supporters of Small Steps Nurturing Center enjoyed a paired wine dinner at the ninth annual Wine Classic at the Bayou Club. Small Steps Nurturing Center operates two preschools for economically at-risk children in the First, Second and Fifth Wards of Houston. Small Steps partnered with master sommelier David Keck of Goodnight Hospitality for an evening planned by co-chairs Mary Kay and Brandt Bowden and Lauren and Brad Morgan. Shern-Min Chow of KHOU 11 served as emcee. Proceeds totaled $131,000 for the Scholarship Society program, underwriting all academic costs for 17 Small Steps students for the entire school year.
