Freedom Over Texas

Happy Fourth of July! Here are fun events and festivities happening all around town. (Note: Please check individual event websites for weather-related updates.) 

Star-Spangled Salute @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion 

Head to the Woodlands on Independence Day Eve for a free patriotic performance from the Houston Symphony at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, including favorites such as the 1812 Overture and The Stars and Stripes Forever.

City of Bellaire July 4th Parade and Festival 

Hit the streets to enjoy Bellaire’s annual fun-filled morning on the Fourth with a parade at 9:30 a.m. 

West University Independence Day Bike Parade and Pool Party 

This patriotic procession begins at the West University City Hall at 8:45 a.m. and concludes at the Colonial Park Pool, where complimentary admission will be offered and the festivities will continue. Participants are encouraged to adorn their modes of transportation (bike, scooter, wagon, etc.) with patriotic decorations.

Star-Spangled Salute @ Miller Outdoor Theatre 

Conclude your evening on the Fourth with a performance by the Houston Symphony at 8:30 p.m. including patriotic favorites such as the 1812 Overture and The Stars and Stripes Forever. The show will end with a fireworks finale.

Kidpendence Day at the Children’s Museum 

Stay cool this Fourth and enjoy this kid-friendly, indoor Independence Day parade held at the Children’s Museum. Other activities will include a “meet and greet” with Captain America and the Founding Fathers.

4th of July Celebration @ Bayou Bend 

Stop by Bayou Bend this Fourth to look at the American collection of art housed at the museum and enjoy a variety of performances, crafts and activities.

July 4 2018

On Weds., July 4, from 7-11 p.m., enjoy Texas Unlimited Band (Country & Rock) & 15-minute fireworks spectacular at 9:30 p.m. at CityCentre.

Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular @ CityCentre 

CityCentre will host a celebration on the Fourth, starting with a live music performance at 7 p.m. Fireworks take place at 9:30 p.m. and the concert continues till 11 p.m. 

Fourth of July Snow & Ice Celebration @ Memorial City Square 

Beat the heat this Fourth by playing in 30,000 pounds of snow and indulging in some ice cream. The festivities will last from 1-4 p.m. and will feature performances from live bands.

Villages Independence Festival 

This celebration, hosted by the Memorial Villages, begins with a fun run at 8:45 a.m. followed by a parade at 9 a.m. that begins at Memorial High School. Afterward, games, food, and activities will continue into the afternoon at Ecclesia West Side. The festival and parade is on, rain or shine.

Freedom Over Texas @ Eleanor Tinsley Park 

Held at Eleanor Tinsley Park, this Independence Day celebration features a lineup of live artists including Chris Young, The Mavericks, and Cupid & The Dance Party Express. This event lasts from 4- 10 p.m. and will conclude with a fireworks finale.

City of Galveston Independence Day Parade and Fireworks 

Head down to Galveston for this coastal parade that begins at 7:30 p.m. At 9:15 p.m., the festivities will conclude with a breathtaking fireworks show over the Gulf.

Fourth of July Celebration @ Kemah Boardwalk 

Head to the boardwalk to enjoy this patriotic celebration that includes live music and a fireworks show over Galveston Bay, beginning at 9:30 p.m.
