West U parks friends

The City of West University Place hosted the 2018 Star Citizens Award luncheon celebration. This year’s recipients were 2018 Park Lovers’ Ball chairs William and Jennifer Swallen and Jennifer and Daniel Blum (pictured, from left). This year’s ball, themed A Night in Old Havana, raised more than $400,000 for West U parks. Mayor Susan Sample presented the awards. In the crowd at the Cyclone Anaya’s lunch was Susan White, parks and recreation director, Jeremy Veld, parks and recreation administrative manager, Donna LaMond, executive director of Friends of West University Parks Place Fund, and Mark Prescott, chair and member of the Friends board.
