Lamar High School senior Thomas Cochran recently completed his fourth year in the GeoFORCE Summer Academy at the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin. The classes are an outreach program to increase the number of students pursuing STEM degrees in college. Each summer GeoFORCE takes about 400 high school students on geological field trips in Texas and throughout the United States.
