Boot-scootin’ birthday

Betty Freedman celebrated her 90th birthday with barbecue, a band and a family tribute and song at the Armadillo Palace, hosted by her children, Marc and Twilight Freedman, Don and Martha Freedman, Judy and Ronnie Yambra, and Linda and Nelson Block. More than 150 friends and family gathered for the country-western celebration. They presented a book all about Betty, which was unknowingly “written” by her, as her granddaughter Ilana Freedman sent her a question per week for a year. The compilation included dozens of family photos. Betty (pictured with family members) has four children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren (eight are married or engaged) and 15 (maybe 16 by now) great-grandchildren.
