Art and soul
About 85 celebrated the Houston Chamber Choir’s 23rd season, Art & Soul, with a first-ever season-kickoff party. Guests enjoyed food and drinks in Greenwood King Properties’ lobby in Upper Kirby, arranged by Nancy Younger Kruka and Elaine Ellender. Managing director Mariam Khalili expressed her excitement about the season, which began with This Is Why I Sing. Artistic director Robert Simpson opened the performance part of the event. Houston Chamber Choir will perform The Unicorn, the Gorgon and the Manticore, Sun., Nov. 18 at St. Philip Presbyterian Church. See houstonchamberchoir.org.
