About 85 celebrated the Houston Chamber Choir’s 23rd season, Art & Soul, with a first-ever season-kickoff party. Pictured are (from left) Dr. Rachel Ellsworth, Dr. Warren Ellsworth IV, Frank Hood and Mariquita Masterson. Managing director Mariam Khalili expressed her excitement about the season, which began with This Is Why I Sing. Artistic director Robert Simpson opened the performance part of the event. Houston Chamber Choir will perform The Unicorn, the Gorgon and the Manticore, Sun., Nov. 18 at St. Philip Presbyterian Church. See houstonchamberchoir.org.
