Women of Influence

Tammie Kahn and Carol Shattuck were honored as Women of Influence from the National Council of Jewish Women for their part in the community. (Pictured, from left) Jayme Schlackman, co-presidents Aliza Plotkin and Lisa Stanton, honorees Tammie Kahn and Carol Shattuck, Glenda Kirshbaum, Bonnie Herst and Deedee Ostfeld.

Tammie Kahn and Carol Shattuck were honored as Women of Influence from the National Council of Jewish Women for their part in the community. Since 1995, Tammie has been the executive director of the Children’s Museum of Houston, regularly ranked the No. 1 children’s museum. For 20 years, Carol was the president of Collaborative for Children, which partners with parents and early-education programs to help young children reach their potential. The other “influencers,” Council co-presidents Aliza Plotkin and Lisa Stanton, event chairs Bonnie Herst and Glenda Kirshbaum, community service vice president Jayme Schlackman and Deedee Ostfeld, thanked the extensive committee.
