Charlotte Riley and Mary Mae Bechtol

Memorial Drive Elementary second graders Charlotte Riley and Mary Mae Bechtol (pictured, from left) are all smiles after a soccer victory. The rainy weather has interfered with games and practices, but the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association 7/8 girls Predators team has managed to learn and perform under the less-than-stellar conditions. The Predators are off to a strong start with one win and one tie. Charlotte had a standout moment as goalie when she leapt in the air to block a ball and prevented the other team from scoring. Coached by Leo Ibanez and Carter Bechtol, the Predators are Wiley Janke, Isabella Petree, Sammy Krueger, Karis Ibanez, Sofia Mathew, Nellie Newtown, Ashley Swinbank, Leighton Lufburrow, Sophie Klimchuck, Evelyn Mankarious, Shayli Dubey, Charlotte and Mary Mae.
