JDRF Houston Gulf Coast Chapter, which addresses type 1 diabetes, kicked off the 20th anniversary of its annual gala, Promise Ball, at 51fifteen. The space at Saks Fifth Avenue was decorated by platinum-colored balloons, and attendees brought wine as donations to the auction. Board president Liz Lay Vittor, Promise Ball chair Mary D’Andrea and executive director Rick Byrd toasted this year’s honoree, Daniel Yates.
