Rooms rarely traveled
The Italian adventure that Denise and Gary Roeder took led them into hidden rooms and behind the scenes via a customized tour of Venice, Florence, Rome and the Amalfi Coast through Access Italy. On Burano, known for its multicolored houses, they visited a workshop to see art of the famous Venetian masks used in Carnivals, and a woman sewed a custom lace gift for Denise to give to her daughter. They entered through secret doors in the Vatican and Sistine Chapel that are usually only accessible to cardinals and saw the Room of Tears, where the newly elected Pope prays and prepares before his first public appearance.
