The Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association junior American League Lakers (pictured) won the championship game against the Thunder. The fourth- and fifth-grade boys came back from an 11-point deficit to win the big game, 42-35, at Don Coleman Coliseum. It was a tough road for the Lakers, who played seven games in 10 days, working their way through the losers’ bracket to advance to the championship game. The big winners are (top row, from left) coach Steve Tamez, Micah Malone, Connor Heaviside, Miller Martin and coach Jud Martin; (bottom row, from left) Tanner Watkins, Aiden Pitcaithly, Lorenzo Maule, Timothy Lee, Luke Tamez, Brayden Johansson and Jackson Van Wie; not pictured: coach Joe Argue
