Veritas Christian Academy seventh grader Ellie Veeningen was awarded a Gold Key award by the Harris County Department of Education and the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for her short story, “Our World.” Her story also earned a National Medal. Ellie will join other winners in June at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Veritas seventh grader Virginia Fairfield received a Silver Key for her short story, “What Really Mattered.” Pictured are Ellie (at left) and Virginia (right) receiving their certificates.
