Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association and Foundation held its 33rd Annual Scholarship Luncheon at the Junior League of Houston. Connie Windes Zieba, Alpha Gamma Delta, was installed as HAPA president. Merry Adamcik, Delta Zeta, was welcomed as HAPF (Foundation) president. Since 1987, the HAPF Scholarship Fund has awarded 572 scholarships, totaling $983,600, to women for college. In May, $61,300 was awarded to 23 undergraduates from Harris County. Scholarship selection chair Joni Landon, Alpha Chi Omega, and vice chair Liz Arend, Sigma Kappa, conducted the scholarship presentation. Philanthropist and wife of former Houston Mayor Bill White, Andrea White, interviewed Y. Ping Sun, attorney, philanthropist, and wife of Rice University president David Leebron. Ping Sun spoke of her experiences as a scholarship student at Princeton and Columbia universities. The event was chaired by Jennie Baker, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Julie Vowell-Ramirez, Gamma Phi Beta, and vice chairs Susan Fruit Draughon, Alpha Omicron Pi, and Lolita Murrah, Alpha Sigma Tau.
