Two weddings in six months
First wedding. Terri Chase, who was outnumbered by men in her family, finally got daughters when her two sons both married within six months. She and husband Russ Chase agree that new relationships with the two brides have enhanced their lives. Elder son Blake Chase got engaged in 2018 to fellow Aggie Natalie Farr in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower on a family trip with Natalie’s family. The entire Farr family (including parents Laura and Jeff Farr) helped Blake scope out the Tower “spot,” placing rose petals, champagne and a specially engraved Bible for Natalie. Just as she said yes, the Eiffel Tower lit up in its nightly light show. The Dec. 1 wedding was held at Grace Bible Church with a reception at Houston Country Club. Brandy freezes were served to the guests as a nightcap. Second wedding. Younger son Michael Chase, also an Aggie, proposed to Parker Ercums of New Braunfels at a friend’s farm outside of College Station. A surprise engagement party ensued at The George hotel hosted by the couple’s parents, Donna and Karlis Ercums and Terri and Russ Chase. The wedding was held over Memorial Day weekend, May 26, in Spring Branch, Texas, near New Braunfels at the Ercums’ nursery, Spring Creek Nursery. The outdoor wedding was capped off with a fireworks show.
