Mavericks on the court

Players from the Mavericks basketball team (pictured) wrap up a game at the Weekley YMCA. Sari Jones, Willow Blashki, Lexi Cohen and Chloe Yomtov (from left) came together from different schools to play on the same summer-league team, in the kindergarten through second-grade division. Willow is a first grader at Beth Yeshurun Day School, Sari is a Horn Elementary School kindergartener, and Lexi (first grade) and Chloe (second grade) attend Condit Elementary School. The girls are no strangers to basketball, and have also played at the YMCA in past seasons. In addition to working on their game skills and playing with friends, the teammates enjoy playing indoors during the summer to escape the Houston heat. They finished this season by winning their final game, and look forward to playing again next season.
