Leah and Dale Mathews hosted an all-orange Halloween party – “the Annual Awesome and Gruesome Halloween Party. Orange You Scared?” - for about 65 friends. Their “Orange is the New Snack” table contained solely orange foods, such as smoked salmon, carrots, circus peanuts, fruits such as oranges, mangos, cantaloupe, sliders with Hawaiian buns and cheddar cheese. The night was full of treats and clever tricks; for example, the Mathews posted a sign on the garage door requesting guests to use the front door and then, on the front door, the sign read to please use the garage entrance. Neighbors enjoying the creative orange fun included Karen Garrido, Joy and Ed Taravella, Cindy and Bartt Shelton, Patricia Rosaria and Irv DeLeon. Carlos and Teresa Rodriguez, dressed as Guns ‘N Roses, won the costume contest. The prize was a Halloween night survival guide – homemade chili, Fritos and a scary bottle of wine.
