Fashion for families
Holly and Austin Alvis, Christine Falgout and Bill Gutknecht, and Holly and Steve Radom chaired the Catwalk gala, raising more than $500,000 in support of A Shelter for Cancer Families. This year, ASCF purchased property in the heart of West University in large part due to the success of the fall fashion event. Now with a permanent home, the organization is able to provide more than 5,600 nights of housing in a year. This year, ASCF presented six new ambassador families, including FOX 26 Houston’s anchor Melissa Wilson, who walked the runway with her family to a standing ovation. Wilson emceed the event, paying homage to her son Caleb who overcame childhood leukemia three years ago and her son Zach who stood by his brother’s side during this time. The evening ended with a River Oaks District’s fashion show produced by Ursaline Hamilton featuring Veronica Beard and Moncler. Pictured are Dr. Morgan Norris and Dr. Julia Oh.
