Pin Oak Middle School’s 7th/8th grade Blue team (pictured) placed third in their pool at the Burning Flower Lacrosse Tournament. In addition to playing some great lacrosse, the Chargers helped support the mission of the tournament by bringing stuffed animals to donate to police departments, for children to hold for comfort in times of crisis. The annual tournament is held in honor of a former Cy-Fair lacrosse player who suddenly passed away from a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Each year, teams from across the Houston area bring donations to help others in need. Pin Oak was proud to enter two teams in the tournament, and the 6th/7th grade White team (not pictured) also participated. The Blue team members are (top row, from left) Reagan Brown, Bethany Belgrove, Natalie Torgerson, Mara McCarthy, Sloane Phillips, Addison Phelps, Zophia Ugalde, Rachel Kohl, coach Dietz Vollrath, Emma Vanderbloemen, Lauren Wasaff and coach Kirstin Vollrath; (bottom row, from left) Nur Makdisi, Lorelai Hawkins, Maddie Vollrath, Bella Hendricks and Annie Love.
