Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Valentine's Weekend

Happy Friday and happy Valentine’s Day! Here are some fun events going on this weekend: 

Mardi Gras Galveston  
Mardi Gras Galveston kicks off today and continues through Feb. 25. Look forward to festive parades, entertainment including Blue October, Bowling for Soup, Bun B. and more. See the full entertainment lineup here.

ReelAbilities Houston Film & Arts Festival  
ReelAbilities, a free, city-wide film and arts festival dedicated to presenting films, art exhibitions, performances, and speakers that celebrate the lives, stories, and talents of people with disabilities, continues this weekend with a variety of compelling films. See the full schedule here.  

Rice Village Valentine’s Party in the Plaza  
Rice Village will host the first ever Valentine’s party in Morningside Plaza tonight beginning at 5 p.m. Families, couples and children are invited to attend the complimentary event, which will include desserts and champagne, a build-your-own French-inspired flower bouquet, and the movie, The Proposal, which will be screened at 7 p.m.

20th Annual Fruit Tree Sale
Urban Harvest will host its 20th Annual Fruit Tree Sale at Sawyer Yards on Saturday. This single-day sale is the largest in the country, selling over 4,000 fruit trees in just a few hours. All profits benefit Urban Harvest, supporting its mission of enriching the community by providing community garden programming, youth education and farmers markets. Experts will be onsite to help give advice on fruit trees. 

Tapas on the Trails  
Enjoy a romantic date in nature on Saturday at the annual Tapas on the Trail event (ages 21+) at the Houston Arboretum. Walk through the trails and pause to indulge in four delicious courses, paired perfectly with beers and wines. The evening ends at the Event Lawn, where guests will enjoy vermouth spritzers, liquid nitrogen ice cream, a coffee bar and the opportunity to meet a live owl. 

Mardi Gras Pub Crawl
Get in the Mardi Gras spirit here in Houston with Saint Arnold Brewery's White Oak Pub Crawl on Saturday. Start at Little Woodrow’s between 2 and 3 p.m. to get a punch card. After that, bar crawl in any order before 6 p.m.
