In Case You Missed It: Top Buzz This Week
These are some uncertain, anxiety-provoking times. We hope you’re all staying healthy (physically and mentally) and, of course, staying home if you’re able to do so, to protect ourselves and others.
As always, The Buzz is striving to share positive and helpful stories. We realize that, as we’re all connecting virtually – personally and professionally – there’s a lot of content out there these days (and that’s an understatement). So today, here’s a recap of some of our top stories this week, in case you missed it:
Ways to Help Your Neighbors: Here, you’ll find a list of how to help neighbors during this tough time. We’ve been adding to this list as we hear of new ways to help each other. Comment if you know of another way to help.
Supporting Rodeo Vendors: This is one way we’ve heard of neighbors helping out the larger community. When RodeoHouston was cut short, many vendors were left in a financial bind. These neighbors found a way to help.
Spreading Cheer Through Song: These musicians came up with a beautiful way to connect with each other safely and spread joy to their neighborhood.
Spring Branch ISD Art Trail: SBISD students created colorful murals – each inspired by a different children’s book – around the district, comprising the SBID Art Trail.
Sunday Mornings with Rania: Talking to Your Kids about COVID-19: Rania Mankarious, CEO of Crime Stoppers of Houston, shares tips for talking to your kids about what’s going on in the world.
Laughter is the Best Medicine: Find recommendations for funny shows to watch and funny books to read.
Coping with Stress: Find healthy ways to cope with stress here including keeping a schedule even while we’re at home, tuning into positive podcasts, meditating, baking (like these cookies!) and more.
