Bringing Ring Day home
Typically, Texas A&M students receive their graduate rings the spring before their senior year. The rings are presented on campus with lots of fanfare. This year, the coronavirus intervened, and the event was cancelled. So, Dana and Juan Harris surprised daughter Sophia Harris with a Ring Day at home. Dana created a faux A&M ring out of a soda bottle cap, and it was presented to Sophia, a 2017 St. Agnes Academy graduate, during a socially distanced celebration in the driveway of grandparents Dee and Jim Avioli. Proud supporters included Sophia’s brother Matthew (big brother Joshua wasn’t in attendance as he was preparing to graduate from A&M soon after), Gina Taylor, Amanda and Seth Taylor, Laura Henderson, Catherine Buthod, Suzie Heiser, Sarah and Katie Fiore, DeeDee and Julianna Garcia, and Erin Smith.
