Max
Hewwoow! I am Max, the talking dog. I love to talk now because I was so alone on the streets during Harvey. It was a dreadful storm, but I fought through. Life started to look up when I was picked up by the amazing volunteers of Freedom Street Rescue. When they found me, I had no fur. After heartworm treatments with sweet Dr. Reid, I found my true home. They were a pack of humans that I call my family. At first, I was nervous and even ran away my first night. My mommy almost had a heart attack and had to persuade me to come back. I never take life’s blessings for granted anymore. Neither does my family. I hear them say all the time that I am God’s greatest gift to them and that they hope to go to heaven one day to ask God where all I have been.
