Front-yard volleyball

Even without a net, sisters Alex and Ellen Moore (pictured) managed to practice volleyball in their front yard. Ellen, 12, has played volleyball for four years and currently plays setter for Veritas Christian Academy. Last season the Veritas junior varsity team had a solid record, and Ellen is looking forward to starting back with her team again next season. Older sister Alex has played for seven years as an outside hitter and middle blocker. Both girls play for Houston Volleyball Academy club teams. During their time at home, the girls’ teams expect them to practice serving, and they have Zoom conditioning sessions each week. If all goes as planned, they will be back on the court in August.
