Dream wedding

Walker Kimball and Allison Piper planned to marry in Vermont, where Walker is originally from and where his parents reside. Covid-19 threw them some curveballs, so they made some adjustments, and it worked out beautifully. They married at Hildene – the summer home of Abraham Lincoln’s son, Robert Todd Lincoln – which is now a museum with a garden. The wedding theme was “Dream on.” As the couple walked down the aisle, a violin quartet played the song “Dream On” by Aerosmith. The wedding cake was decorated with clouds and guitars. Guests were grouped by family and distanced from one another, with buckets of ice with champagne, beer and water. Attendees were given Safely Sip masks made by Houston designer Chloe Dao, so they could mask up while sipping on beverages. Cocktail-hour dishes were packaged in to-go containers, and, after Allison and Walker cut the cake, slices were placed in to-go containers as well. Toasts included short speeches from their children – Garrett Kimball, Karsen Kimball and Alyssa Wall – as well as Allison’s brother, Aaron. After the ceremony, the optional reception took place outdoors in a tent with individually wrapped sandwiches and drinks. Despite challenges, the wedding was dreamy. Allison and Walker honeymooned on the East Coast, visiting Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.
