Defending the field

Kinkaid School field hockey defender Nadia Jett (pictured) plays in a game against Duchesne Academy. The eighth grader and her team managed to play during the pandemic, with fewer games and new health and safety precautions. Coach Jess McClain led the girls through the unique season, taking the time to work on skills and enjoying being back on the field together. The beginning of the season involved a great deal of individual skill work to further the girls’ technique while staying safe. Kinkaid finished the shortened season with a 3-2 record. The players are Nadia, Elizabeth Ajumobi, Eva Humble, Libby Liuzzi, Ella Ou, Mary Papandreou, Caroline Raynes, Gayle Robertson, Caroline Swanson and Vaishali Thakkar.
