Clays for a cause
Chinquapin Preparatory School’s eighth annual sporting-clays tournament brought together nearly 250 shooters for a day of shooting, music, BBQ and an auction. Event co-chairs were Freddie Barela, Sam Bowen Jr., Andrew Kollaer and Will McDaniel. This year, first-place winners were Team Simmons Energy, led by James Baker, Mark Adamson, David Elder and Brian Roche. Locke Lord’s team – Mike Peters, Larry Lee, Robert Lee and Martin Rubio – took the Top Flurry Spot. Many teams vied for the coveted “Dead Ass Last” trophy, and the lucky team included John Athon, Bryan Athon and Joe Solis. Proceeds support Chinquapin's mission, including providing a rigorous college-prep education for sixth-12th graders from underserved communities.
