Celebrating 75 years of HJF
Members of the Houston Junior Forum gathered for a festive pop-up party at Marmion Park to celebrate 75 years of the nonprofit. HJF president Linda West welcomed the 70 members who gathered at the outdoor gazebo, including Susan Rosenbaum, Sherri Cooley, Debby Berner and Mary Cooper. Rather than cutting the cake in traditional slices, wine glasses were dipped upside down to cut “slices” as a safer, Covid-friendly (and fun) method. HJF, which helps underserved members of the Greater Houston community, also operates the HJF Resale Shop, which provides funds to support HJF programs, such as a college scholarship program. As HJF celebrates 75 years of service, it’s also celebrating more than 50 years of operating the Resale Shop, located at 1815 Rutland in the Heights. See houstonjuniorforum.org.
