Spotlighting young artists
Every year, SBISD schools participate in an Artomé art show in which every student has a piece of artwork professionally framed and on display. Typically held in the SBISD Coliseum, the format shifted this year due to Covid. Recently, Wilchester created the first-ever Drive Thru Art Show to celebrate student art. The show was a success with almost 850 pieces of art from both in-person and virtual learners. Students and their families enjoyed seeing all of the creative pieces. Pictured is Wilchester fourth grader Brooks Bown picking up his artwork. In addition, SBISD art teachers and students hosted the Spring Branch Visual Arts Trail during Spring Break, in which framed pieces of art highlighting children’s books were displayed outside of schools.
