Happy Friday! Check out these exciting events happening this weekend.

Houston Grand Opera Presents 'Marian’s Song'
Come see free, live opera at the Miller Outdoor Theatre this Friday and Saturday. The Houston Grand Opera will be performing this family-friendly opera based on the life of Marian Anderson, one of the most celebrated Black singers of the 20th century.

Can't make it on Saturday? There will be free Blue Bell for everyone all weekend at the Galveston Railroad Museum.

Ice Cream Social at the Galveston Railroad Museum
The weather is heating up, and the Galveston Railroad Museum is kicking off the summer with ice cream and live music! Included with admission to the museum ($12) is free Blue Bell ice cream. But don’t worry if you can't make it on Saturday. There will be free Blue Bell all weekend!

Views from Levy Park: Artist Meet & Greet
To wrap up the Levy Park Photography Workshop, Levy Park will host its first in-park exhibition showcasing photography from local artists. Artists with work on display will be present to answer questions and engage in conversation about their experience with the year-long community education program presented by Levy Park and Houston Center for Photography. This event is on Saturday afternoon and is free and open to the public.

The Big Dig Benefiting Houston Pets Alive
Bring your furry friends to The Big Dig this Saturday afternoon at Camden Highland Village. Food trucks, local vendors, and more will be available at this free event. Your pup can compete to sniff out the winning bone. There will be a total of 24 grad prizes to win! Admission is free but a $20 donation is suggested. Proceeds will go towards supporting the rescue of animals at risk of being euthanized.  

Eid Drive-Thru Celebration
On Saturday evening, The Muslims of Bellaire are hosting a drive-thru Eid celebration to mark the end of Ramadan. This event is free but requires registration in advance. Read more about how Buzz-area families observe Ramadan here.

The Dr. Seuss Experience
The Dr. Seuss Experience kicks off this weekend at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The interactive and immersive Seuss-tastic experience takes guests through nine different Dr. Seuss books. The experience will be open through August. Tickets are available online in advance.  

Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Astros face the Texas Rangers at Minute Maid Park.

Rice University Baseball vs. Charlotte 49ers Baseball
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Owls face the 49ers at Reckling Park.
