Walking together
Easter Seals Greater Houston recently marked the 10th year of its annual Walk With Me event to raise funds for local families in need of its services, including mental health and case management. After taking a virtual approach last year due to Covid, the organization moved to a hybrid model in which participants were able to choose their route and walk, roll, or stroll the non-competitive 5k at the Houston Zoo or in their own neighborhoods. This year, around 1,600 supporters joined in person at the zoo, and more than 1,000 joined virtually with participants from Texas, Sweden, India, and France to raise funds and awareness.
