West U All-Stars headed to state

The 13U West University Intermediate All-Stars (pictured) won both the district and sectionals championships and are headed for state. They secured the district champ title after three big wins over Memorial Ashford, First Colony, and Westbury/Bellaire/Neartown Little League. The team’s next stop was the sectionals tournament, where they swept the Santa Fe team in a best-of-three series. While they prepare for the state competition, the boys are not only practicing baseball, but also having fun together with team meals, swim parties, and movie nights. Pictured after the District 16 win are (top row, from left) coach Bobby Marquez, Alex Hughes, Andrew Christensen, Jackson Ryals, coach Willy Amador, and coach Marvin Dike; (middle row, from left) Kai Guharoy, Jack Stanger, AJ Patterson, Coltan Blossom, and Carson Murray; (bottom row, from left) Tommy Hetherington, Michael Chin, Reid Dellinger, Blake Kekish, and Aaron Griggs.
